Built Up Roof, BUR, systems are common on industrial properties. A BUR is comprised of layers of various roofing materials typically topped with a rolled cap sheet. As soon as a roof deck has 2 existing layers of roofing materials, a full tear off is required. Asbestos abatement will be mandatory on older roofs.
